Shannon 30, Taiwan My name is Vivian and I'm a 19 year old German girl. I have been traveling with Sarah, Shannon and the Kids since the 3rd of Nov. (replacing Kino). It's my job mainly to take care of the kids. It's a lot of fun and different from the types of jobs I've had before. As it's the first time taking care for children of this age, I'm enjoying the challenges these kids bring! I've been in Australia since July and I love this country. It's totaly different than Germany (not just because of the weather ;)) The bread is strange, the people are more open and helpful, and the mentality reflects the opportunites available in such a big new, young country... I love it. When I first arrived it took me about 3 weeks to secure a job but I got one at Igloo Zoo, the best Frozen Yogurt store I've ever been to!!! I spent my first 3.5 months working there in Bondi, living at Kings Cross to save some money but now I have enough money and happy to find something new to see. I realy want to buy a car and travel around Australia. Maybe I will run a couple of kilometers but I think I would be to lazy to run around Australia like Sarah! I'm very happy to be a part of something special like this and very proud of Sarah, she is incredible the way she manages to have enough energy for everything, it must be the raw oraganic food she is eating these days. Two beautiful kids and a run around Australia with all the hiding challenges that pop up from time to time(like a flat tyre on the support car this morning). I hope for the last 3 weeks, we will have a lot of fun and I'm a helping hand for Sarah. And maybe I'll find a way to put the kids to bed earlier :) Yesterday it took me 3 hours!!!!!
Nothing i can say will express how impressed i am with you effort, courage and determination in completing this One lap of Australia... So I'll leave it at WE DONE !!!! I hope you enjoy your more "normal" life as you settle back into Wagga Wagga ... enjoy the break from the road.... and i hate to imagine what you have planned to follow this one up........ Pete p.s ... I was very disappointed by the very small amount of space the Sunday papers gave you..... i missed the TV news on Saturday.. but i hope they gave you more air time .....
DEAR SARAH, YOU GOT THERE!!!,....FOR ME IT WAS WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND SUPPORT AND SEE IT HAPPENING. SINCERELY,..STEVE LLOYD,..x,..THE DISC BLOKE NEAR PAKENHAM-DROUIN
Hi Sarah, Congratulations, hope it was everything you expected when reaching the Opera House. Sorry we couldn't make the finish it would have been great but we had a friends 60th Birthday on Saturday night and my cousin Jan has been down for a week. She left this morning and I have just arrived home from the airport. I have been checking the web site everyday for news but I expect you have been very busy. On Sunday the Mercury newspaper had an article and a friend send me an email with the Sydney Morning Herald story which was the same. Hope is all well with yourself, Bonnie and Austin. Have you been offered any job prospects? We would love to hear from you when you are settled. Sue & Ken
Hi Sarah Congratulations once again on your achieving your goal. My family taped the Ch 7 and ABC News if you didn't manage to see them. Did you get any other channels recorded? I hope you and your lovely children have found comfort in returning to a stationary life. I particularly wanted to thank you for creating such an incredibly rich experience. Regardless of leaving a little late, everything was so well organised and you have a wonderful personality to run and hang out with. You lead well and were always clear in directions (even amongst the chaos). I especially loved that you answered all of my many questions with thought. Many people can't do that while resting, let alone while running :) You've raised two lovely children. I especially liked my first encounter with your son, which was a minor biff to the face...cheeky and fun :) I look forward to keeping in touch and hearing of your future adventures. I'll be wearing my singlet with pride :)
Well done on a fantastic and enormous challenge... always knew if there was a woman who could do this it would be you...because you believe you can do it... thats why!!!
